Devotion:

Titus 3:5
“He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saves us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.”
Jesus did what he did because he loves us. It would have been so easy for him to just save himself and forget about all of us who really needed salvation and redemption. It would have been really easy for him to let us bear all the pain for the sins we have committed, but he didn’t. Jesus cares for us in spite of what we do, who we are and where we have been. He offers us salvation and a life that is truly worth living. Jesus allows us to be reborn through him and to live freely in the Holy Spirit. What does this cost us? Only to believe in him and believe that he is who he said he was.
When I was younger I really didn’t believe that Jesus was there for me. I felt that my life was so rotten that something so good surly could not be a part of it. I was wrong Jesus never left me even when I though that he did there are times in my life that I used to say I don’t know how I made it through unscathed. But now I know how, through the mercy and grace of Jesus Christ. Even when I didn’t want him to be there he carried me through all the tough times of my youth as well as the tough times of my early adulthood. He still caries me now. When I have troubles and calamity in my life I find myself resting on the promises of God that he will never leave or forsake his children.
What do you lean on? Have you talked with Jesus recently? Have you given up your troubles to him, if not what is stopping you?
