ROOTED - Wednesday, September 21, 2022

We are taking a break from Wesleyan this week.  Makayla, our Student Ministries Director, will be writing our ROOTED devotions this week.  Enjoy!

The power of thanksgiving

Psalms 69:30

I will praise God’s name in song and glorify Him with thanksgiving.

When entering a space where the gift of music and praise is present, a unique thing often happens within us. Whether in an actual worship space or blaring some music through the car speakers, the experience of lifting our voices to praise and cry out to the Lord is liberating. Our huffs of thanksgiving and praise can release us from bent-up pressures or release a feeling of immense joy, creating new spaces to encounter the Lord within us. Let us always place ourselves in a place to meet with the Lord so that His power and glory may reign within us.

Glorious and gracious Father, thank you for giving us the gift of song so that we may praise Your holy name. I rejoice in Your steadfastness and give thanks that Your word is never changing. Thank you for giving us this new day so that we may share who You are with others and so that we may grow closer to you. In Your holy name, Amen.
